The UN International Day of Peace on 21 September every year is about creating peace between nations, it’s about non-violence in our homes, communities and schools. Therefore Peace Day is relevant to every human being on the planet.
Remember Peace starts within ourselves.
In the late 1990s, filmmaker Jeremy Gilley and founder of Peace One Day created a documentary about his campaign to establish an annual day of cease-fire and non-violence. Some years later, in 2001, his efforts were rewarded when the member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted a resolution making the 21st of September . . .Peace Day.
