Ela R. Bhatt is one of The Elders.
Ela R. Bhatt is recognised in the world as one of the most remarkable pioneers and entrepreneurial forces in grassroots development. She has dedicated her life to improving the lives of India’s poorest and most oppressed women workers with Ghandian thinking as a guide. Ela R. Bhatt founded SEWA, Self-employed women´s association in 1972. She is an active advocate of women empowerment.

Since 2002, Cinema for Peace has been a worldwide initiative that promotes humanity through films while inviting members of the international film community to attend the annual Cinema for Peace Award Gala night during the Berlin International Film Festival.

Elie Wiesel- Nobel Peace Price winner
Eliezer "Elie" Wiesel is a writer, professor at Boston University, political activist, Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor.The author of 57 books, his best known book is Night, a work based on his experiences as a prisoner in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps.
Elie Wiesel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. The Norwegian Nobel Committee called him a "messenger to mankind" due to his work in the cause of peace, atonement and human dignity.

The Nobel Peace Prize 1994- Rev. Desmond Tutu
Rev. Desmond Tutu is a South African cleric and activist opponent of apartheid. In 1984, Tutu became the second South African to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Tutu was the first black South African Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa.
He has receive serveral awards, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Himanitariasm, the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2005 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.
He is an advocate for the defense of human rights. He uses his high profile to participate in campaigns to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, homophobia, poverty and racism.
Rev. Desmond Tutu has formulated his objective as "a democratic and just society without racial divisions". He has also compiled several books of his speeches and sayings.

Reflections: Educating the heart & Creativity and Well-Being
This is the third part of a four-part series with the Dalai Lama Center's founding director Victor Chan as part of the 2009 Vancouver Peace Summit. This summit was a global event that brought five Nobel Laureates and many world-renowned thinkers and leaders in social transformation to Vancouver to talk about creating a more compassionate, peaceful world.

World Peace Festival in Berlin
World Peace Festival is an ongoing world peace initiative that builds sustainable communities. Tom Oliver the creator of this fesival wants to establish a genuine state of global peace and inspire and empower people to be more at peace with themselves, others and their environment.
The World Peace Festival will include interesting seminars, workshops, cultural exhibitions, sports, art and music events. The Festival will take place in Berlin in August 26-28,2011.
